- **Choose tonnage by room size:** As a rough guide: 1 ton for rooms up to about 110 sq ft, 1.5 ton for 120–180 sq ft and 2 ton for larger rooms. Top-floor rooms and west-facing walls need more capacity.
- **Inverter and star rating:** Inverter ACs save significant electricity over fixed-speed models. A higher BEE star rating pays back faster if you run the AC many hours a day.
- **Installation costs:** Split ACs need professional installation. Extra copper piping, stands and outdoor brackets are often charged separately — check before you order.
